You are able to complete certain training courses directly in DCI. There are two ways to do so:

1. Complete a new certification via Online Training Widget

• The Online Training Widget is a directory of all available online courses.

• Use the search bar at the top of the widget to locate the desired training.

• Click the requirement name to launch the training

  • The training will be launched in the Training Player window*

2. Renew a certification via Expiring Certifications Widget

• The Expiring Certifications Widget lists any of your current certifications that are expiring soon.

• Click the camera icon listed for the expiring certification to launch the training player.*

*Note: Some requirements do not have a video, but are linked to a website. If this is the case, the website will open in a new window when you click the link.

When you click a course, the training player will open in a smaller window. You are still logged into DCI. Click the play symbol in the center of the screen to begin the course. A few notes about taking online courses in DCI:

• You must watch the entire video and pass a short quiz at the end of the video in order to complete the course.

• You cannot skip ahead.

• If you need to take a break or finish the course at a later time, your progress will be saved. You will not have to re-start the course from the beginning.

• Your results will be recorded once you complete the quiz.

At the end of the course, you may be required to complete a short quiz.

If you fail the course:

• You will be informed that you failed the course and will be given the option to retake it.

• After your first attempt, you will be able to skip around in the video or jump straight to the quiz.

 If you pass the course:

• You will be informed that you successfully completed the course. You can click “done” on the training player window.

• A new profile certification will be created for you by the end of the day. If you renewed an expiring certification, the requirement will be removed from the Expiring Certifications widget once the new profile certification is created. 

  • Please note that it will take some time for the widget to be refreshed. If you click the course again, it will let you know when you last passed the course and give you the option to renew. You do not need to retake the test if you passed it.

• You will receive a notification when the profile certification has been created.
