Password Reset


Description: In this topic, the user will learn how to reset their password.

*Please note: If the user is unable to verify the security question or SSN (social security number) and DOB (date of birth), contact a supervisor or employer for assistance. They will send a reset password email that will allow the user to reset the security question. For new users who have not selected a security question and answer, see Profile Activation article.

  1. The DCI Portal provides a forgot password function on the login page

    1. Web portal - Click the Forgot your password? blue hyperlink on the login page

    2. Mobile app - Click the Forgot Password? blue hyperlink on the login page

    3. Mobile Web - Click the Forgot your password? blue hyperlink on the login page

  2. For Web Portal and Mobile Web, enter your email address and click the blue Send Reset Email button. For Mobile App, enter your email address and click the blue Next button

    1. Please note: FI environments require both username and email address to be entered

  3. Locate the email sent by support@dcisoftware.com to reset the password

    1. Check spam if the email is not received in the inbox

  4. Click the Reset Password link in the email

    1. Please note: The Activate Your Profile or Reset Password button link is only active for a specific amount of time (determined by the organization - typically 24 hours)

    2. After clicking the Activate Your Profile button in the email, if the link is inactive, an alert appears stating "Invalid Token. Please contact your DCI administrator." Select the Resend the email button and proceed back to step 3.

  5. The Security Verification screen displays

    1. Option 1: Enter the security question answer

      1. Please note: Security question answer is case sensitive and must be entered exactly as when created

    2. Option 2:

      1. Enter last four digits of SSN (Social Security Number)

      2. Select DOB (Date of Birth) by selecting Month, Day, and Year from the drop-downs.

    3. Click the blue Verify button

  6. The Reset Password screen displays

    1. Enter a new password with the following criteria:

      1. Must be at least 10 characters

      2. Must contain one uppercase letter, lowercase letter, number, and special character.

      3. Must not contain more than two repeated characters in a row

        1. Please note: Varies based on the instance

      4. The password should be different from the three previous passwords

        1. Please note: Only applicable when changing password

      5. Password should not contain the user's account name or parts of the user's full name that exceed two consecutive characters

    2. Retype the password to confirm it

    3. Click the blue Reset button

    4. Click the blue Yes button on the Alert pop-up to confirm the password reset

  7. The DCI profile login page displays

    1. Enter the username

    2. Enter the password

    3. Click the blue Sign In button

  8. The user password is now reset and active
